Community Conections

Let’s be honest here… meeting new people is hard! It was hard before the pandemic, but I find it is even harder now.

For people who:

  • Don’t have kids or they have already moved out

  • Work alone

  • Have recently moved to a new city and don’t know anyone

  • Have just left a relationship

  • Struggle socially

  • OR… maybe are just struggling to find their ‘people’

From the outside it probably looks like I have a lot of friends and that I am socializing often, but in reality… I have a handful of very good friends that I love and treasure, but I still have a hard time fitting in when it comes to groups. After several failed attempts of joining existing groups, an ADHD diagnosis and a possible (still exploring) Autism diagnosis, it became clear to me this year that I need to stop trying to fit my round peg… into everyone else’s square box.

Instead, I am choosing to honor my uniqueness and am just going to build my own dang box! Middle Aged Misfits was born out of compassion and empathy for anyone else who has been feeling this way. In this group, I want people to feel safe to be themselves, un-judged, celebrated for their uniqueness and welcomed! We will support one another, share unique or fun finds and will plan events throughout the year for us to connect.

If this sounds like it’s for you… please join us at : Middle Aged Misfits

The other group that I have been working on is called ‘Real Life Pin Up’s’ and was created as a place for anyone who loves 1950’s, Pin Up, Rockabilly or anything of the sort to come together. Here, we will share relevant events, plan pin up photo shoots, provide a place for people to sell their ‘Pin Up, Retro or Vintage’ items and generally connect.

This group is meant to be a fun, safe, inclusive space where people can feel comfortable to explore this part of their personality, can meet others with a shared interest and perhaps even find themselves a community.
